Ginkgo Biloba

Posted by Illuci (Hurdegaryp, Netherlands) on 1 June 2007 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio.

The ginkgo is a tree forming the evolutionary link between the firs and spruces on the one hand, and leaf trees on the other hand; it's unique and as such a "living fossile". It is a symbol for partnership-in-love, because its leaves consist of two separate lobes, together forming one leaf. We have one in our garden, a present for our marriage.
