The same plant as shot earlier, now in B&W from another angle. I used a digital green filter in the same color as the plant to let it contrast more against the background which is of a darker and more brownish green. This result makes me decide to use B&W more often, but not always. I tried the previous posting in B&W but its colors appeared to be essential.

@Art Monkey: Thanks, I'm also very happy with the picture because the plant looks like silver jewelry.
i dont hink i would have used a green filter but the leaves look nice

Hoe denkt u daarover?
Nice B & W!

@LuisRodrigues: Thanks, Luis! I wrote (in Dutch) to Stijn that I had a "struggle" with myself about instruments such as filters and other "artificial means" to manipulate photographs. How do you think about it?
cool b&w

I like the strong contrast between the leaves and the background. B&W works nicely for this one as it helps me to examine the lines and shapes and not get distracted by the colors.

Try not to overuse B&W. I feel like B&W can be used as an "easy out" for photographers to make shots more dramatic. I like the layers and texture in this shot.

I love the light faces standing out front and the fields just melt in the background. Ah, I'm not as good at looking artistically at pictures as you are pal. :)
