Abandoned Letterbox

It’s so long ago I got my latest letter
My latest bill, my latest card,
I think there’s something new, much better,
And no grateful grave is my reward.

A statue for myself, that's me,
Because a passing dog-outletter
Made my portrait, he knew better:
See the artful colors: just watch me!

not quite sure what "dog-outletter" quite means [and having typed that - answering myself now - someone who lets dogs out on their own as opposed to walking them on a lead perhaps?] but I am sure about this being a great photo!

Thanks Sithenah. In Dutch we say: "I'm going to let the dog out" ("Ik ga de hond uitlaten") when we go out for a walk with the dog on a lead or let him go freely (if this is allowed). I looked up the word "uitlaten" in a dictionary, and it said "let out" if applicable to animals. So I invented the word "outletter" as someone who lets his/her dog out. But if there is another word for it, then please let me know.
