Cleaning the Ditches

Posted by Illuci (Hurdegaryp, Netherlands) on 29 October 2007 in Landscape & Rural.

During the time you can pick blackberries for the jam, the farmers are busy cleaning the ditches through their land from reed and waterplants that have been thriving during summer. If you don't clean them, then within a couple of years half the province would be a big swamp. In the background a cleaning machine is visible.
