Beautiful fall colors! I'm so jealous that you can look at this everyday.

Very nice shot, I just would put in a bit more contrast.

@ColNed Pictures: Thanks ColNed, I was afraid that I would deviate too much from reality, because it was a grey, rainy day. I'm still bothering about how much I can deviate: can I "correct" grey tones when I want to show something colorfull and the weather shows them in a tempered way? I've tried this picture with bright-yellow but I didn't dare to apply it. Maybe it's also because I'm a bit old-fashioned and younger people are easier with Photoshop and how to make the picture itself exciting ("spannend"). I think in many pictures there's a tension in what you yourself find satisfying, and what you think others might like. Now you notice I'm a schoolmaster don't you :)?
Ah, the Silver Birch has to have the most wonderfully textured and coloured bark of the trees that I'm familier with. The combination of the yellow almost golden canopy of leaves and the bark are beautiful. A wonderful capture Erik.

Love the birch tree, really good against the autumn colours. Could still use a bit more contrast ;)

Nice shot and great textures!

The contrast is just enough like this. It might be even too bright already. Why should a tree on a rainy day be sparkling?

@peter: Thanks Peter but as my brother aren't you a bit prejudiced :)?
Prachtig als het is, een zelden schoonheid!

I honestly like it just the way it is too. Truly beautiful capture and composition, Erik. The textures on the trees are magnificent.
