Baking Nuts Cookies (Food 6 of 6)

Posted by Illuci (Hurdegaryp, Netherlands) on 24 November 2007 in Food & Cuisine and Portfolio.

Here is the recipe:

375 grams of flour
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
1 ground clove
little bit of salt
250 grams of butter or margarine
170 grams of reed sugar
2 tablespoons of maple syrup (in Europe: pancake syrup)
1 egg
about 150 - 200 grams of nuts (hazelnuts or other, but not thicker than about 0.5 cm)

1. Sieve the flour with cinnamon, ground clove and salt in a bowl and put this aside.
2. Mix the butter, sugar, maple syrup and after that, mix the egg in it. After that, mix the flour from the apart bowl bit by bit through the butter-sugar mixture. Then mix the nuts through the dough.
3. Form the dough into a ball and let cool in the fridge for at least 2 hours.
4. roll the dough on a slightly floured surface into a flat plate just as thick as the nuts are. Cut the cookie-forms out of it and put these on a baking plate slightly rubbed with butter.
5. Pre-heat the oven on 190 degrees Celsius and let cook during about 10 minutes.
