I don't know if it's a pity that the illumination wasn't on.
The picture is best appreciated when switched on "large" (right bottom corner of your screen).
Thank you for visiting my p-blog and leaving your comment and advice!

Hi Erik, nice one!!. My eye keeps attracted to the blue spot in the water. The longer i look at it, it almost becomes annoying. Strange.........

@peter: LOL! Good exercise to ignore things that bother you. I have spoken to the manager of the municipal department about the ugly/modern lamp post on this historical place. He found it a matter of taste and he added my taste was too old-fashioned (=other than the expert city architects that advise the city board). Even the color of the lamp light doesn't match the other colors in dark.
nice reflect..

@Faramarz: Thanks Faramaz!
Maybe with the lights on it would have overwhelmed the rest of the picture? I like it as it is.

@Wolfgang Prigge: That's what I thought too, and maybe it would become a bit Kitsch then (only the snow would lack :)
really good night shot!!! It doesn't need the illumination. I like the reflection and the curve of the buildings and the canal My only regret is that you picture seems a little bit noisy... Strange, because you shooted at iso100

@Laurent: Thanks Laurent, this kind of pictures isn't well suited for my camera which is an outdated model from 2001. The sensor needs much light also with ISO 100, and with ISO 400 (its maximum) the pictures are only acceptable with full daylight so I only use ISO 100. The noise is less on the original picture before posting, because posting decreases the amount of pixels. The latest cameras give better results but Ï'm saving for it.
This is a beautiful shot.
