@Wolfgang Prigge: Danke schön, Wolfgang, du würdest es auch eine "tolle" Zeit gefunden haben: um 7 schon in der Küche zum Brotbacken, danach eine Tasse Tee mit Kuchen, und weiter abwechselnd arbeiten (alles sauber machen, Tische bereitmachen, Garten unterhalten, usw.), studieren, mit den Kindern spielen und spazieren.

@Rebecca: Aspects of all religions are discussed as long as they are non-dogmatic and leading to the core of all religions. My personal view is (not necessarily the school's view) that some religions in the Far East are in themselves mystical, they have no Holy Book where God reveals what He expects from people and what people should do or let. But the Western religions and Islam have a Holy Book with prescriptions and clinging too strongly to these descriptions can lead to distraction from the core. In Islam there is a mystical stream, the Sufis, and also in Christianity we know the mysticism of monasteries who see the Church as a package around what really counts. I discussed your question before with my wife who is a school member, because I also found that Islam was under-represented in the spiritual teachings of the school. I think it's more a matter of coincidence than of deliberate avoidance of Islam. The main views are threefold: ancient Greek 'Plato and Socrates', Hindu, and Christian. Also Marcilio Ficino and Marcus Aurelius are important authors being studied. The challenge and beautiful thing is also that all levels of education are represented within the school and that everybody enjoys its fruits, whether professor or bricklayer.
