De Oxerhof #3

An old tree had to be removed because of danger of falling branches. The big logs were brought to a drying place, the upper half of the tree was sawn into pieces and used for a fire. These three men just had two hours of working behind them and enjoy the well-deserved rest at the fire.

a fine composition and story, but arent they any fire places left in Holland where you can sell wood?

@Dimitrios: Thanks, Dimitrios. Yes you can buy firplace wood at almost any gas station, but this wood isn't suited for inhouse burning because it contains too much resin: if you touch a piece without bark it's very sticky, and the resin causes in-wood explosions and showers of sparks.

@the lightwriter: Yes, you have experience, only here we didn't have a piece of cattle above the fire (too many vegetarians around :).

@HorseRotorVator: Thanks HRV, I'm jealous about the countrysides you show too! They are real nature, in Holland it's extremely rare, everything is cultivated. This way we get at least at rare moments the "cowboy feeling" :)
