What is the use of a house if you haven't got a tolerable planet to put it on? Henry David Thoreau (1817 - 1862)
Just around the corner of our street, with its backyard at the lake, you can find this nice wooden house with its peculiar architecture. Although it's about 20 years old, it's designed environment-friendly, nowadays we say: "in a sustainable way".

It has a kind of geodesic-dome look perhaps because of the triangles. You've caught a wonderful detail and warmth, Erik. I love this kind of unusual design and the fact that it's Eco-friendly is a great plus.

@the lightwriter: Hi Peter, I can see you are in a hurry, please re-read what you wrote :) (as a schoolmaster I can't help making these comments) - thank you for passing by!
I'm not a great lover of modern architecture, but this is wonderfully designed, all the better too is that it's eco friendly. A great night capture Erik.

How would it be living with triangles and cubes above your head?! I wonder and , at the same time, I think you just get used and don't notice the fact any more.I also think that the image looks attractive because the house is all lit up and it makes for a great effect for the outside viewer.

@Japanalia: Thanks Japanalia. I think these people deliberately chose for this design, the window panes give lots of light in the rooms above. If one has the money, there are few things as personal as a home, and these homes reflect also the difference in taste and living style. Most people (like me) have to do with an average house with a triangle-shaped roof and lack of space, but low energy bills and the vacuum cleaning doesn't take long :)
Isn't that unusual...well right now it would be welcome, it looks sooo warm and I'm freezing :) great catch :)

A good photo with warm colors. I guess the house is full of light inside, a plus for those dark days in December...
