This picture is to tease both the oyster lovers and the oyster haters if you understand what I mean :). For the oyster lovers: the oysters are covered with pieces of cucumber in a light sauce enhancing the sea-taste of the delicacy. I prefer them "regular" with no additions at all, but this looks and tastes quite well.

@Lorraine: These are Friesian cucumbers they taste a bit salty because of the proximity of the sea, so they harmonize well. Apple on oysters, how dare you :)

@Dhini: Wat let je? Het is wel een beetje duur, maar het moet wel vers zijn. Bij de meeste viswinkels moet je ze bestellen, en je moet een oestermes kopen anders krijg je ze niet open, voorzichtig hoor! Doe er alleen een beetje citroensap en wat peper op.

Its a tough one. I've tried them but i can usually only eat the one i try & thats enough for me. However i do still try them every time i see them prepared a different way or prepared by different people - you never know you may like the way someone else does it.
