@Steven: Thanks, Steven! It's amazing how non-Dutch people appreciate Dutch views which we tend to find "normal". Anyway, I appreciate it too!

@Lorraine: I agree, but the Lauwersmeer was dyked because of the threats of the sea for the surrounding area with villages and countryside. Now it's a nature park, protected by the government, but tourism and recreation is gradually penetrating the area with bungalow resorts....

@Helma: Thanks you Helma, I like it when somebody from a totally different kind of country likes the Dutch views.

@Wolfgang Prigge: Thanks Wolfgang. In most harbours both recreational and work vessels find shelter. In this one recreation is the main part. Next to this type of harbours there are the marinas, especially designed for recreation. I prefer the work-recreation harbours because of their atmosphere. In the marinas you often can't sleep because of the wind howling through the shrouds of the standing rigging.

@standley: Thanks Standley, despite the grey weather, they give a special tone in the colors. Also a bit dull, but that's how this Sunday was.
