A bit late because this dare-devil already blooms the second half of January, also in cold winters. One wonders where the insects are that are supposed to visit it.

@Lorraine: Thanks Lorraine, also for teaching me a new word "eye candy". After finding its meaning on www.soople.com (a site where you find the definitions of anything, as given on all websites searched for definitions), I learned that I'm growing older, not keeping up with all developments in the visual area :).

It IS EYE CANDY, Erik. So glad you learned a new word/phrase. :) Is this a hazel bush? I saw one in bloom in Arkel the other day and it looks similar. You have captured it beautifully.

Already???? In spite of all that cold????Little bitsy things, they might wonder why they bloom in January....their shape shows they are not convinced of this necessity! We have the wild plum trees already full of buds. If it gets above 10 deg.C they'll explode!
