Every con has its pro after a Dutch proverb, introduced by the famous football (soccer) player Johan Cruijff, also renowned by his philosophical statements. He said: "every pro has its con", but the reverse also seems to true.
Serendipity effect: When I took the picture I wanted to picture the mill, not the reeds which I considered a nice framing of the main subject. When I saw the result I considered it a failed piece of crap and threw it into the waste basket. Afterwards I gave it a second look and decided that the main subject wasn't the windmill but the picture as a whole, giving an impression of Friesian (Dutch) landscape on a dark winterday.

I'm glad you rescued this from the delete folder because it's a nice shot. The reeds are a wonderful screen through which we can see the landscape. Nice shot.

Beautiful shot. I like a lot this composition.

I love this because the reeds at the front show a depth that would be missing otherwise - I've done it myself but often it is a mistake to crop out all the foreground - not that you could have done with this particular photo.

Superb capture. And I am glad you decided to compose it this way. Great capture.
Is it Kinderdijk? I've been there and the view is breathtaking. But the colours were so different from how it appears in your picture. Its amazing how nature wears different clothes at different times of the year :).
Kinderdijk was an amazing experience. Your's is a beautiful country.

@Sujit Sudhi: In Friesian they say "Better let dan net" (Better late than not). No, it's not Kinderdijk, although I have family living in the area there. I try to capture outside pictures in different weather conditions and that's not too difficult in this country. Thanks for your compliment! Of course I could compliment you with your country but that's a bit comparing a mouse with an elephant anyway what I appreciate of India is its music (I like the sitar very much|) and the Hindu mythology which I've been trying to understand fo years, especially the Baghavad Gita is what I'm busy with now. Beautiful! Sanskrit is "the mother of all languages", older than Greek or Latin and it sounds so beautiful! If I had time I would take Sanskrit lessons, they are given here and there is much interest for it. Thanks for your patience for an answer on your friendly comment!
I love this capture and am glad you didn't throw it away! The atmosphere is wonderful and it works even better with the mill just a suggestion!
