Sail class #5: Bump!

Dogged does it
Saying in English, which I find more expressive than its Dutch equivalent: "the persister wins".

I found some negatives from the time I used an analog camera, of the sail class my son took part in. The pictures are from almost 2 years ago (Spring 2006), he was 8 years old at the time.

After having succeeded in tacking the boat through the wind, the two sailors are sailing back from the shore, and must pass a plastic buoy. Here Menno found his sailing-Waterloo :). Around buoys the most spectacular sailing race moments can be experienced (and shot!). Imagine my son's feelings when being overtaken this way by a girl! After the class he left sailing for what it is, and he's totally mad of horses now. Unfortunately we cannot have one or more horses ourselves (space but above all money) but once a week he takes riding lessons and he assists in horse caring and stable maintenance (wish he would maintain his own room that way, too, sigh).

Fortunately he has no objections in sailing with mum and dad on their boat, and even assists in little sailing tasks on board.
