The colors are fresh from the camera, not processed (!) but contain a bit too much red (imperfection of the camera sensor, because of the imperfection of the uploaded image some reed stems show a broken structure if you look well). I tried to correct by adding a slight tiny bit of green, but couldn't correct the reeds. Normally this green-adding works out well, but this time the delicate structure got affected by too much noise (as a result of the dusk-light conditions), so I left it like it was, a nice scene after all! Kitsch? What the heck let it be Kitsch, don't you like cream cake then?

Oh my gosh. This is beautiful! I really like all the red actually. I have a photo of reeds up today that was inspired by you. Just thought you should know. :)

can colours by itself be Kitsch? What if the photo was in B&W? This is a slice straight out of your visible reality. When it touches your mood and feeling, it is not important if it is kitsch or not. This is very beautiful Kitsch. I am glad you get a feeling for Kitschy things. It enriches you. Great and impressive photo this is!

The gradation of colors in the sky is impressive, and the outline of the reeds is perfectly lovely. I'm troubled by that branch in the upper left, but if you cropped it you'd lose that lavender in the sky. . . A lovely, peaceful image.

@GJC: I just downloaded a photo-processing program comparable to Photoshop. I 'll try to remove (after training with it) the branches with it. Thanks for your comment. BTW my colleague saw the picture and found the branch make a good balance with the reeds. Tastes differ!
very beautiful!

I think you should not erase the branch! I like it there! Also, I wonder if nature can be called kitsch. My dictionary says the expression is applied to art, objects or design, so a natural photo would not fall in this category....

Erik it is an absolutely beautiful image, what glorious colours and scene.

lovely colours and nice to see something fresh from the camera, exactly as imperfect sensors and optics captured it... most unprocessed shots aren't so naturally vivid!
