Leeuwarden III #2: draw bridge

A modern draw bridge in a traditional city environment. I can't get used to it, but it has something...
Tomorrow a closer look at this piece of postmodern architecture. The day after tomorrow a closer look at the factory buildings at the horizon which belong to the classical industrial architecture of the Netherlands, they are beautiful.

I like the diagonal compositional element that moves from high in the left to lower in the right side. The color of the sky isn't so interesting, but I think it's good to have that much sky there because it emphasizes the flatness of the space. Nice shot.

Thanks GJC! This country is really very, very flat, I liked also the morning atmosphere in the picture and its reminiscents to 100 years ago, you see it also in city-pictures of those times. Contrasting to it is the weird bridge, in Western European eyes it immediately attracks the attention because we are used to the same kind of bridges but totally differently and far more traditionally designed..

I really love this one, the composition and the early morning light with a little haze make it stand out. As for the modern bridge, in this photo it looks elegant, not out of place. I will have to resrve my final judgement till I see more of it.

This is nicely captured, at an early hour, in a small town, where new battles the old and finally is integrated in what it used to be, so much so that you don't really see the new anymore or you take it for granted...... it has always been there, you'd think. What I most love here is that you captured the atmosphere of a moment in time!
