Leeuwarden III #3: draw bridge #2

Yesterday you could see this bridge from a distance, this is a closer look. Many people will find the bridge beautifully contrasting with its environment, many will find it a horror.
The building in the background is the old prison which is still in use. The prisoners will not be able to form an opinion untill they get their freedom again. My personal opinion is ambivalent. And yours?

That's a really unique bridge. I think I'd have to see it in person to really pass judgment though.

My initial impression is that I like it. It looks to have a rather utilitarian purpose (to raise the bridge) with an artistic interpretation. Great shot, btw.

@HorseRotorVator: Thanks; yes it's one-way, more or less like the gate of the building in the background.

Now that I read a number of comments, I believe that I appreciate the bridge's shape more. Only the color is more lila than it is on the picture, it should be more blue I think. Anyway, it's a daring design.

I like the shape of the new part of the bridge! It is so fluid in movement and it just anchors by this fluidity the older bridge! Superb contrast to the old building in the background!

Hi Iluci, i llike the way you pictured it. The light is stunning and the colours are bright! The contrast between the bridge and the jailhouse could not be better shown. And well, some local gouvernment people wanted to show off with this bridge and now they think they are part of eternal being.
