@Irwansyah Sk3tchw!nd: I also find at at the edge of boring, but I posted it just because of its composition, which I liked, and let's be honest, Hurdegaryp is not an exciting place to live (that's why I find it a good living place :)
I was thinking of you today as I went out, a cold rainy day, but the start of some greenery and it made me think of your recent photos. Your place has such marvelous green! I love the flatness of the landscape and the big, beautiful skies you show us. Thanks for sharing.

@GJC: Thanks GJC for thinking of my pictures :), indeed when we came to this area from elsewhere in the Netherlands some 15 years ago we had to get used to the overwhelming skies and the vast flatness, it is often as if you are on a green sea. It's just because there are no high buildings, hills or high forests that cover a great deal of the sky in the wide surroundings on many places. I also love your pictures very much because one way or another I'm a great admirer of traditional Japanese culture, architecture, rituals/ceremonies and landscapes. Some 100 years ago we had famous painters such as Van Gogh and Monet in France who were inspired by Japanese brush paintings and drawings, I can only agree with them. We called this Japanese school in European art "Japonerie" and sometimes I make a picture that gives me also a Japanese feeling. Some bloggers place self-made or found haiku poems under their pictures. I think I'm going to do that to in the near future. Thanks for your friendly comments. (Do you know you are on the home page of AM3 with a sample picture?)
Hi Erik, I read your answer to Irwansyah Sk3tchw!nd and found it very interesting. You chose to live in a quiet place for the same reasons that I chose to live in a quiet place... :-) I found Granby to be a good place to raise a family, with all the services one needs, not too far from the big city... Have you ever heard the Chinese expression,"May you live in exiting times." They don't wish it to their friends... :-)

Wide open spaces and lot's of sky, a simply fantastic place to live Erik. We too chose a quiet place to live, it was the best decision we ever made.
