Pulling old cows out of the ditch
Dutch saying, meaning "memorizing old cases that already long ago have been settled and have become obsolete now". Happens often in political debates when an opponent memorizes "failures" of the colleague-politician of ten years ago.

Apparently, this fence as part of a gate is intended to prevent passing cattle from falling into the ditch. There's also some repair work to do.

In families it happens also, all the time. Old cows have been pulled out of the ditch all the time.
My advice: Pull them out properly, save them and give them a new chance.........or let them drown and barry them afterwards. Nice, (for me) common view, daily scene. Thanks.

Already so nice and green, I envie you! Nice photo, but with a cow in the pasture (or the ditch? :-) )would be even better to illustrate your saying..

@vu@granby - Wolfgang: Yes, I agree very much! But the farmers are scared by the mad cow disease and other diseases and many prefer to keep them in the stable as long as possible, btw, it's not the time yet to let them outside, but I promise more cow pictures this year. I want to repeat that I appreciated the maple picture today on vu@granby very much!

@Paul van der Meer: Bedankt, Paul. De scherptediepte ervaar ik bijna nooit als probleem bij digitaal. Vroeger, bij analoog, luisterde dat veel nauwer, het maakte veel uit of het F getal 4,5 was of 9,0, ik merk nu dat het bijna niets uitmaakt, bij F=9 heb je alleen veel minder licht. Weet jij daar meer over te vertellen?

I really love the greens, but my favorite is that little slice of silver that runs up the side of the ditch. Beautiful and very effective for your composition. The gate and that river are very well put together in this image.
