Saddleroof church in Âldtsjerk

Posted by Illuci (Hurdegaryp, Netherlands) on 3 May 2008 in Architecture.

The church is dating back to the Middle Ages (14th century), the tower is covered by a regular roof just like on houses. Hence its name "saddle roof". It's about 10 miles from Hurdegaryp.
The trees hindered a POV that allowed free sight on the front.
Another, smaller church like this you find on one of my previous posts.
